The logic of "it doesn't happen in X therefore it must be a bug in Y" is not always the most sound way to troubleshoot. The problem appears to be system related rather than Cakewalk since it happened after a windows update with no changes to Cakewalk. I've been in touch with NI about this so we are working with them.
